A Legacy of Leadership: Thank You for Being Part of the Journey

For 25 years, the Australian Centre for Leadership for Women (ACLW) has been a leading voice for gender equality in Australia. Founded by Dr Diann Rodgers-Healey in 2000, the Centre championed women’s advancement through national awards, research journals, and tireless government advocacy.

ACLW has served as a pivotal virtual hub for gender equality, focusing on dismantling systemic barriers to women’s advancement in corporate and community spheres. Through national initiatives like the Leadership Achievement Award for Women (LAAW), the Diversity Award, the Leading Issues Journal, conferences and campaigns lobbying for gender equality, including addressing the gender pay gap, supporting the National Plan on Violence Against Women, researching and advocating for more women on boards, exploring leadership theory and practice, and submissions to government reviews, ACLW has recognised women and those advocating for women nationally, provided over two decades of research and advocacy, leaving a lasting digital archive of its work. You can explore the organisation’s history at this website, in particular its timeline of achievements.

To all the dedicated members, ambassadors, and advocates of the Australian Centre for Leadership for Women (ACLW), your commitment since its founding in 2000 has been the bedrock of its success.

As the organisation concludes its operations as a business and transitions to a digital record of its legacy, we extend a heartfelt thank you for your contributions. Your participation helped shift the discourse around gender equality, addressing critical systemic constraints to women’s leadership in organisations and society and their recognition and advancement. By supporting flagship programs like the National Leadership Awards, you ensured that the achievements of women and those advocating for them were recognised at the highest levels. Your support allowed ACLW to maintain a strong national voice focusing on gender equality and the recognition of ACLW’s work in Parliament are direct results of your collective effort.

The organisation’s extensive research, leadership theories, and advocacy records are now preserved as a permanent digital archive at ACLW.org and within Australia’s Trove.
